Zymr worked with the bank to build a cloud-native core banking platform hosted on AWS, centered around a modular, microservices-based architecture. We enabled real-time transaction processing through an event-driven framework and deployed scalable services using Kubernetes. To open the platform to digital ecosystems, we implemented secure, API-first integrations for mobile apps, fintech services, and third-party wallets—secured with OAuth 2.0 authentication. Additionally, we built a centralized data warehouse on Google BigQuery and embedded real-time dashboards and predictive analytics for better customer insights and risk forecasting. This helped unify data across the enterprise and improve decision-making across lending, deposits, and treasury functions.
A mid-sized regional bank operating across Southeast Asia, the client provides a range of retail and corporate banking services. Facing growing demand for digital banking and real-time services, the bank aimed to modernize its decades-old COBOL-based core banking infrastructure to improve operational efficiency, accelerate innovation, and meet evolving compliance expectations.
The legacy system lacked the flexibility to support real-time processing and modern product development. Every new product rollout required lengthy custom configurations, driving up costs and time to market. The core system was also isolated from mobile and digital channels, making it difficult to deliver the omnichannel experiences today’s customers expect. This resulted in operational inefficiencies, lower customer engagement, and increasing pressure from digital-native competitors.
The client successfully transitioned to a flexible, modern core banking environment, reducing time-to-market for new financial products by 45%. With elastic cloud scaling, system uptime reached 99.95%, significantly improving reliability. The revamped digital experience led to a 60% boost in customer engagement. Operational costs for core banking activities dropped by 30%, thanks to automation and centralized infrastructure.
